    Rconnection + TCP server

    Hi,

I am brand new to Symbian C++ and have a newbie question.

I'm using s60 2.0 sdk, and want to run a tcp/gprs server program. Since I am also doing other stuff on this phone, like supporting a Bluetooth connection, I think I have to use Rconnection. Right?

Assuming I do, does anyone have a code snippet to show me how I do a tcp server with Rconnection?

    Thanks in advance!

Have a look at RSocket and RSocketServ.

Use RConnection to establish connectivity before you establish a connection - for example if you want to connect using GPRS by default and do not want to prompt the user for a connection.

Thanks for your message. I've read through the documentation for RConnection and RSocketServ, but am not sure I completely understand how to use them for a tcp server.

Here is what I think should happen:

Do a connect on a RSocketServ object. This gives access to the Sockets API.

Do an open on an RConnection object, using the connect-ed RSocketServ object and your desired connection type as a parameter. This allows multi-homed access to the phone's communications interfaces.

Now do all the normal Listener and Socket Opens and a Listener Bind/Accept.

Am I on the right track?

    Thanks in advance!
