    test SMS receive

Perhaps a very newbie question on how to test receiving and processing received SMS messages.

Basically, I need a way to somehow fool the emulator as thinking that there is a new received SMS message so that it notifies my application (as my application has registered for it). Then my application can read and process the message in specific ways.

Is there a folder that I can put a text file to fool the emulator or is there a smarter way of doing this? Any help is appreciated.

Create an entry in the Inbox

Create a session with the message server - which you have done already.

Use this to create a message server entry contect object

CMsvEntry::NewL() // set context to global inbox

Use a TMsvEntry to create a new entry in the inbox, make sure that you set the iServiceId field to SMS.

and that should just about do it.

    Example code

Please see example code in http://www.forum.nokia.com/files/nds...3,4059,00.html it'll show you how to create messages into Inbox folder and make them look like they were received OTA.

This sample handles MMS messages but you can modify it for SMS usage by changing the MTM and message type. Check SDK API documentation on how to use the SMS MTM, also you can use the following sample as a reference http://www.forum.nokia.com/files/nds...3,2898,00.html
