    Sniffer program

    Hi!

Does anybody know if there's some sniffer program to capture every GPRS packet running on Symbian OS?

would like to check the content of the packets that are being transmitted(or received) by my 6630...

    Some brilliant idea?

I'm also interested in this functionality (the ability to capture GPRS packets to/from the phone). Does anyone have a solution?

    Hi,

I have seen that there is a IPtrace application for Symbian to do it. But I didn't test it and see it.

Its trace file is readable for Wireshark.

    Hell,

I know it is a old timer.

But I am interesting in how it is possible to make the sniffer working on Symbian? It looks like it can't be done with the public Symbian SDK.

you might also know that you can get total symbian source code from symbian.org so there are no private SDK as it is.

    Re: Sniffer program

i suggest you get the source code symbian^3 and make it work with on symbian^3 devices. once done you can try getting the equivalent API for 3rd Edition

One problem with that suggestion: There are no Symbian^3 devices on the market yet.

However it is certainly close. In the last 1-2 months almost every week new posters appear asking about problems with N8 protos. (It is always a nice feeling to know that people are allowed to run around with such devices, without even the capability of keeping their mouth shut.)

My personal favorutite is a good old WiFi router connected to a PC; who loggs :

But if you insist on a different solution on device, so be it. AFAIK, it is possible - the only issue would be getting all the capabilities!
