The makmake tool failed to run. Project creation aborted.

I have installed Codewarrior 2.8.3 (5.5.1.1523b) with proper licenses. I have successfully built my project using command line "bldmake bldfiles; abld build winscw udeb"; When i am trying to load the project using CW IDE using the option "File | Import project from .mmp file" i am getting the following error:
"" The makmake tool failed to run. Project creation aborted.""

cw_log.txt is displayed with the following error:
    *********************************
    Makefile Module Cl_codewarrior
    Makefile Type make
    MMP Macros CW32 WINS WINSCW
    Macros __SYMBIAN32__ __CW32__ __WINS__ __WINSCW__
    Blds UDEB UREL
    cpp.EXE -undef -nostdinc -+ -I ..\..\..\epoc32\include -I . -I .\ -D CW32=_____CW32 -D WINS=_____WINS -D WINSCW=_____WINSCW -I "..\..\..\EPOC32\include\oem" -include ..\..\..\EPOC32\include\oem\bldvariant.hrh ".\Mp4DecHwDevice.mmp"
ERROR: Unable to identify a compatible CodeWarrior for Symbian OS installation.
    Loading Module: "IDE_CW.PM"
    *********************************

What could be the problem? i am not able to proceed further because of this.

    thanks in advace

    Hi,

Are you using SDK? What is the Symbian OS version of your build environment?

    OK,

You need CW 3.0 with Symbian OS 9.0 or later.
CW 2.8.3 works with Symbian OS 8.0 or earlier.

Is there a difference between Symbian 9.0 and Symbian 9.1 with respect to Code Warrior?

Actually the same configuration that was mentioned earlier is working on a different computer. I dont know why this problem is on my machine.

    Hi,

Now you mentioned, I think that there is no Symbian OS 9.0 (www.Symbian.com does not recognize that) but there is Symbian OS 9.1. This OS version does not work with the CW 2.8.3.

I also agree that it is Symbian 9.1. The only confusing thing is that CW 2.8.3 is working fine on one of the pc's with the same env (9.1) and not on my pc.

    Hi,

What kind of command you give when this error occures?

Have you tried to compile the project from CW?

well i did not give any command at all...
this happens when i try to create a new project in CW.
hence it gives me this ereror, that "the makmaketoolfailed to run. Project creation aborted"...

    PS: i have cw+SDK+perl
do i need anything other than this also...

    eager for ur reply
    Regards
    Sid
