    fps - n-gage vs. 6600

I have a simple animation triggered by key events. It runs about a half times slower in 6600 compared to n-gage. FPS is fixed to 20 in gameloop.

Is it a regular behaviour ? I think there must be no such difference, it is really a very simple animation consisting 10 frames of 176x29 images.

Is it possible that it does happen because of calculations other than repainting ? Is n-gage such that powerful compared to 6600 in terms of jre ?

    Thanks...

    Hi

IMHO there is no such difference in between 6600 & n-gage.
Any way please ensure that U are not using any thing from known issues of 6600 like System.gc() which is blocking and will result in extreme slowness..

    Hi,

The document is quite useful, however I dont think I am using any problematic issue. I have also tested it on some other phones, it is like 6600 (slower animation) not N-gage.

I am using drawImage for painting sprites (some sprites are quite big, not a traditional 16x16 or 32x32), and I have read some discussions about drawImage vs. drawPixels but I dont get any conclusion if any. Do you think it can make a difference if I replace drawImage with drawPixels ?

    Thanks...
