    Enabling Nokia 6600 with SIP

    Hi All,

As per my understanding, Nokia 6600 does not have SIP in-built and hence, we have to load the SIP stack on to the phone.

    1. Where can I get the SIP stack for loading on to the phone ?

    2. Which format is it in ? sis ?

    3. What is the procedure to load ? Transfer the sis file to the phone and install like any other application ?

    4. Can I then load my SIP application and expect it to work ?

    Thanks,
    Tom

    Download version for:
    V3.29 SIP Stack

it's a SIS, you can install it on the Nokia 6600
but there seems to be problems when running on the 6600
    enjoy~

    Thanks tongren.

Was wondering whether you can briefly let me know the potential problem and probably I can save some time trying not to debug unnecessarily.

    hey~

I am new to SIP too.

    1. I installed it onto my 6600
    2. Then i run a SIP Emulator Server on a machine with a static IP address ( e.g. 202.120.34.XX)
    3. I set the SIP profile on 6600 to that address

but the I can't connect to the SIP Emulator Server, there is no log output in the SIP Emulator Server.
    SO, that is the problem.

If you can get it work on the 6600, Please let me know.

I just use the ChipFlip example (with 8.0a) on my 6600.

by the way, have you run the example successfully in the Emulator?

It got stucked at the step of "Ack" if i run the two SDKs, and the SIP Emulator Server in the same machine.

Yet, if i run the SIP Emulator Server in a machine with static IP(202.120.34.XXX), and two SDKs in LAN (10.10.20.XXX), then it can't pass the first step which means it can't get "Registered"....

I didn't try the ChipFlip.. too big to start with.. wanted a simple app and hence started with the default one created by codewarrior

Ok.. here is the situation... When I register to the server, I find that the Accept Pattern are "blank" while when I register using Windows Messenger, it shows a list of accept patterns that Windows Messenger client can accept.

My question is how can I set the Access Patterns ?

Although my application is getting registered but on sending INVITE, server logs indicate error 488 i.e. "Not Acceptable Here".

    Anyone had this experience ?

I am using SIP Plugin 3.0

hey, how are you going with the SIP?

    My situation:

I used another SIP Server (OnDo Sip Server), and the 6600 can register to the server, but when send an invite to another 6600, nothing happend.

Yet if i use one 6600 to send invite to emulator, everything works fine...

    Any suggestions?
    Thanks~~

I think u have to check your SDP. in ur invite msg, theres the part where u need to specify the type of msg, the description, etc. Thats a problem i face long ago, i think u could check ur SDP or ur listening port is not usable.
