    S60 Dev Platform SDK's for Symbian OS, for Java (2nd Edition, FP 2) invalid class

    The Series 60 Developer Platform SDK's for Symbian OS, for Java (2nd Edition, FP 2) provides J2ME classes in an archive called hmidp80.zip.

    One of these classes, java.lang.String, contains the following code:

    public static String valueOf(float f)
    {
    return Float.toString(f);
    }

    public static String valueOf(double d)
    {
    return Double.toString(d);
    }

    I thought Nokia developers were specialized in J2ME development... It doens't seem so...
    Using float and double in J2ME...

    However that may be, we can't use these libraries because preverifier doesn't allow them!

    Good work!

    Nice call!

    I've been wondering why java.lang.String was failing the preverification step when using SDK2 FP2 with CDLC 1.0.

    Did you notice that if you set CDLC to 1.1, then the preverification is successful?
