    Question Nokia 6680 Player from an InputStream Problem

    Hello everybody,

    I try on a 6680 to create a player from an InputStream:

    InputStream is = new ByteArrayInputStream(audioData);
    try {
    player = Manager.createPlayer(is, "audio/amr");
    player.prefetch();
    player.addPlayerListener(this);
    player.realize();
    VolumeControl vc = (VolumeControl)player.getControl("VolumeControl");
    if (vc != null ) {
    vc.setLevel(100);
    }
    player.start();
    } catch (IOException e) {
    ...
    } catch (MediaException e) {
    ...
    } catch (Exception e) {
    ...
    }

    The problem is that this code does not play the InputStream.

    The same code is used on a 6600 and works flawlessly.

    Has anybody experienced problems while playing from an InputStream?

    Thank you

    Bogdan

    Problem solved

    Here is what I have found out by myself (it may be of help to others):

    - it does not matter whether you play from an InputStream, from an URL or anything else
    - if, in the current profile, the 'Warning Tones' are set to 'Off' - playing from java does not render anything to the speaker
    - if, in the current profile, the 'Warning Tones' are set to 'On' - playing from java works flawlessly

    hope you will find this info usefull.

    is anybody from Nokia here? is this a bug or what?

    bogdan
