    Assistance of a kind person...

    Hi Guys,

This is a really cheeky request but im desperate.

I am quite an experienced coder, having written for many platforms including a homebrew game for the xbox) but am yet to over come the hurdles of even installing the nokia SDKs, so I thought I could bypass the need by asking for the help of a kind natured soul.

All I need is a really simple app, that does 2 things.

    1) Work out which cell the GPRS is using (see celltrack http://www.afischer-online.de/sos/celltrack/ or "the journey game" http://www.mopius.com/ for the idea i mean)
    2) Launch the built in internet browser with that value appended to an url

Ideally I'd like to specify the url in a ini file or something so I could specify "http://www.jamiefuller.com/index.php" and it would append the "?cell=256301FE26202" to make the url "http://www.jamiefuller.com/index.php?cell=256301FE26202"

It would need to run on S60 platform but other than those 2 features it would do nothing else, no output or settings etc.

Can anybody help me out?, You'll have my eternal gratitude and of course full credit for the work. (although i'm not selling it or anything, its only for my personal use).

    Cheers
    Jamie Fuller

    Hi,

    a) starting a view with web borwser with pre-defined http address is not a problem at all. - It is described in some document released by nokia.

    b) creating simple location based application is also not a problem.

Those tasks should be very simple using provided examples and reading something about Symbian - if you're experienced developer, you'll have no problem with it.

    Regards, Petr

Thanks Stenlik, Not quite sure how that helps though! You just repeated what I asked for?

I am working my way through the examples and tuts and will get there eventually.

Sometimes the quickest way to learn is to ask others,

On a technical note, Whenever I compile and test a location based app the emulator gives me a 'System error', is this because the emulator doesnt emulate this info?
