RE: What is the default classpath for the Nokia 9210 Communicator Java apps?

On Symbian, the default classpath is defined using drive wildcards. Drives are searched in the order d:, a:, b:, c:, e:, ... z:. In this manner, files on a removable medium (d can take precedence over files on the RAM (c drive, which in turn take precedence over those in ROM (z.

In addition to these, each application can supply additional classpath locations which are searched before any of the standard drive wildcards.

More information can be found in the SDK's documentation: file:///C:/Symbian/6.0/Shared/DeveloperLibrary/Crystal6.0Java/Crystal/CJavaDevGuide/cjdev/jdev-classpath.guide.html#jdev.default-classpath

The default classpath on the Emulator consists of:

    . The current directory.

?:/classes For shared classes that may be used by more than one application.

?:/ext/* Extension packages stored in zip or jar archives.

    ?:/lib/classes.zip System packages.

These paths lie within the Emulators drivespace, and will usually resolve to its J: drive.

The default classpath on the target device consists of:

    . The current directory.

?:/system/java/classes For shared classes that may be used by more than one application.

?:/system/java/ext/* Extension packages in zip or jar archives.

    ?:/system/java/lib/classes.zip System packages.
