Question Dynamic image in .dm-file ?

    Hi all!

Great forum here, have digged my way through what seems like a million posts here and other places on th web today, but can't seem to find what I need help with.

I am using a WapPush service to send WapPush messages, and all works great except for one thing. I have the image to be downloaded in a .dm-file, because we want it to have forward-lock on it. However, I need the image itself to be dynamic, as different users will be offered different images.

    Can this be done?

Extremely helpful for ANY help that any of you guys can give.

    Thanx a Million times!

    A. S.

Talking Re: Dynamic image in .dm-file ?

Was able to solve this, now the files are created on-the-fly, from ordinary -jpg's - through asp stream, outputting the correct format for the dynamic .dm-file.

Thanks to all in this forum for great hints through your plentiful posts...

Re: Dynamic image in .dm-file ?

    Hi asaaheim,

    I understood what you want.
You are generating the .dm files on the fly. Probably you have one servlet or an .aspx that wrap the content, and send the content wrapped on HTTP response.
In this case, you can send a HTTP parameter to your application.

For example, in your WAP Push service indication, you can fill out with http://www.yourserver.com/wrapper.as...idi/music1.mid.

Then your application can read the file music1.mid from your server file system, wrap the content, and put the wrapped buffer in http response.

I already developed a system to wrap the content with Forward Lock, Combined Delivery and Separate Delivery that works in this way.

Re: Dynamic image in .dm-file ?

    Hi All

I have read your topic with great interest as I am also interested in doing the same.

    1) dynamically generating the .dm
    2) wrapping the content with DRM in my servlet.

I have an initial implementation for forward-locking, but I am having issues with ALL Samsung pohones. I would also like to look at the combined and seperate delivery.

It would be great if you could publish your solution. PLEASE.....

    Thanks

Re: Dynamic image in .dm-file ?

You can do it because .dm file is just 'header data + raw data'.
It is not encrypted by ASE encryption method.
Actually the encrpytion is working on the terminal.

So the server program should just add the header information, before the posting to the terminal.

Check the struture of .dm file.

    1) forward-lock
    --boundary-1
    Content-type: image/jpeg
    Content-Transfer-Encoding: binary

    ...raw data(jpeg image)...
    --boundary-1--

    2) combined delivery
    --boundary-1
    Content-type: application/vnd.oma.drm.rights+xml
    Content-Transfer-Encoding: binary

    ...rights object(REL format)...

    --boundary-1
    Content-type: image/gif
    Content-ID: <content-id>
    Content-Transfer-Encoding: binary

    ...raw data(gif image)...
    --boundary-1--
