    How to detect the PTT key...

    Hello, I'd want to know how I could detect an event of the PTT (Push To Talk) key. I'm using a 6630.
    I've tried it with "HandleKeyEventL" and "OfferKeyEventL" in Appui but I haven't detected any event of that key.

    Thanks.
    Lino.

    Hi,

    you can do it using CEikAppUi::HandleWsEventL() method. Something like this:
    Code:
    void CHelloWorldBasicAppUi::HandleWsEventL(const TWsEvent& aEvent, CCoeControl* /*aDestination*/)
    {
    	switch (aEvent.Type())
    	{
    	case EEventKeyDown :
    		{
    			if (aEvent.Key()->iScanCode == EStdKeyDevice6)
    			{
    				// do what you want
    			}
    		}
    		break;
    	default :
    		break;
    	}
    }
    Regards,
    ivey

    Re: How to detect the PTT key...

    Hello!

    Thanks!

    It works properly with 6630 and 6680

    EStdKeyDevice6 is the scancode of PTT key in 6630 and 6680.

    But, the problem is that EStdKeyDevice6 don't work in N70.

    6630 and 6680 have a PTT key in the top left side of the phone
    (The key has a picture that represents a face talking)

    N70 have an additional key in the middle right of the phone
    (This key don't have any picture).
    How can I use this additional key to acomplish push to talk behaviour?

    Thank You very much

    Feel free to write aEvent.Key()->iScanCode to the screen for finding out if you get any event for particular a key, and - if so - what it is.
