    hi,

    nokia examples means series60ex in your symbian sdk folder, and for emcc examples

    Re: good material dealing with images

    Thanku for the guidance..

    i have found an 'camera application' example which is very close to that of my interest. But i could understand very little of the code where can i get description about what is happening in the code..

    ex:
    void CCameraAppAppUi::ConstructL()
    {
    BaseConstructL();

    // Show tabs for main views from resources
    CEikStatusPane* sp = StatusPane();

    // Fetch pointer to the default navi pane control
    iNaviPane = (CAknNavigationControlContainer*)sp->ControlL(
    TUid::Uid(EEikStatusPaneUidNavi));

    // Tabgroup has been read from resource and it were pushed to the navi pane.
    // Get pointer to the navigation decorator with the ResourceDecorator() function.
    // Application owns the decorator and it has responsibility to delete the object.
    iDecoratedTabGroup = iNaviPane->ResourceDecorator();
    if (iDecoratedTabGroup)
    {
    iTabGroup = (CAknTabGroup*) iDecoratedTabGroup->DecoratedControl();
    }

    // Create a camera controller
    iController = new (ELeave) CCameraAppController;
    iController->ConstructL();

    // Initialize the cmaera
    iController->InitializeCameraL();

    CCameraAppView* view1 = CCameraAppView::NewLC( *iController );
    AddViewL( view1 ); // transfer ownership to CAknViewAppUi
    CleanupStack::Pop(); // view1

    CCameraAppPortraitView* view2 = CCameraAppPortraitView::NewLC( *iController );
    AddViewL( view2 ); // transfer ownership to CAknViewAppUi
    CleanupStack::Pop(); // view2

    SetDefaultViewL(*view1);

    // Default mode is viewfinding
    iCameraMode = EViewFinding;
    }

    i can understand some of the code by reading the function's description..
    can anyone help me learning the basics of the symbian code

    Thanku
    Deepthi.

    Re: good material dealing with images

    hi,

    in your given code, all this code is written in appui class, CCameraAppController is a class handling all the events of camera related. and two views name CCameraAppView and CCameraAppPortraitView are derived from CAknView to see the camera images in normal mode and portrait mode.

    SetDefaultView(*view) means set's the normal mode.

    Re: good material dealing with images

    Hi,

    i am working on series 60 SDK 2.0 supporting MS visual c++ 6.0. yesterday i tried creating a new project using APPWIZARD, at the cmd prompt when i typed 'bldmake bldfiles' in the SDK root directory it started giving me an error :" bldmake is not recognised as an external or internal command".
    i have created a project previously and i got it done succesfully but now its creating a problem...
    i wanted to know how to open an application (downloaded from the net) in MS visual c++. can i create a project and replace all the corresponding files with those downloaded.
    last Q: can i read an image in a particular directory in the system and display it on the emulator. can we disply on the emulator or only on the target device.

    Thanku for ur support
    Deepthi.

    in the cmd prompt:

    c:\>symbian\7.0s\series60_v20\series60ex\bmpmanip\group\bldmake bldfiles

    i think this is application path root.. anyway things were fine.. i just restarted the system and gave a try, it was working.. i dont really know the reason...
