    Series 80 & PrepareL -> USER 11

    I have a problem with a piece of code below. The thing is that executing line:
    TRAPD(err, decrypter->PrepareL(password));
    causes the whole program to crash with USER 11 code.

    ...
    // Create security object, using the read security data
    CBoundedSecurityBase* decrypter = Security::NewL(*securityData);
    CleanupStack::PushL(decrypter);

    TBuf<20> password;
    password.AppendFormat(_L("XXXXXX%dXXXXXXX"), TInt(aPin));
    password.ZeroTerminate();

    // Authenticate password
    TRAPD(err, decrypter->PrepareL(password));
    if (err != KErrNone)
    {
    loaded = 0; // Failed to verify the password!
    } else {
    ...

    Reason code: USER
    Reason number: 11

    This happens only in Series 80. Both emulator and device. Series 60 works just fine.

    Any ideas?

    Re: Series 80 & PrepareL -> USER 11

    USER 11:
    --------

    This panic is raised when any operation that moves or copies data to a 16 bit variant descriptor, causes the length of that descriptor to exceed its maximum length. It may be caused by any of the copying, appending or formatting member functions and, specifically, by the Insert(), Replace(), Fill(), Fillz() and ZeroTerminate() descriptor member functions. It can also be caused by the SetLength() function. See TDes16.
