    Accents in XHTML

    I'm making a wap site for a spanish company, and they are experiencing that special characters like é á are not shown correctly on Nokia 3650, 6680, 7610.

    I have tested the wap site myself, on a wide range of phones (Nokia, Sony Ericsson, Siemens, Motorola) and find no problems.

    Here is a small code example
    //xhtml//
    <font color="#F6C942"><small>Era of Eidolon es una serie de juegos que te introducirá en un mundo de fantasía y excitante aventura.
    Te iniciarás en un país liderado por tres hermanas reinas y pronto te convertirás
    en un verdadero héroe. Pero no eres el único que aspira a la fama y a la gloria! Magos y guerreros
    de todo el mundo también lucharán por el título del guerrero más grandioso de Eidolon!
    Listo para el desafío? Sólo hay una forma de saberlo!</small></font>

    //xhtml//

    Does anybody have an explanation or a solution to the problem?

    Re: Accents in XHTML

    Hi there,
    I'm developing a WAP site for my company. I want to use GIF and JPG image files to that. But I come to know that we can't use these files in WML, we can use only WBMP format files. Can u please tell How to use the above said files.
    If I use these files thro XHTML, how to connect with WML. Pls suggest.

    I prefer to use the decimal entity references. It is actually XML after all.

    yes, but then make sure you specify the good encoding in the header of the page, so the decimal do correspond to what you want

    You should use "ISO-8859-1" for accents in Spanish.

    Re: Accents in XHTML

    Hails.
    I have similar problem - I have UTF-8 encoded page with some "special" two-byte characters in it. It looks like this:
    <?xml version = '1.0' encoding = 'UTF-8'?><!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//WAPFORUM//DTD XHTML Mobile 1.0//EN" "http://www.wapforum.org/DTD/xhtml-mobile10.dtd"><html> <head> <title>Latin-1 spec. chars</title> <meta http-equiv="content-type" content="text/html; charset=utf-8"/> </head> <body> <table width="100%"><tr> <td>C2 A1</td> <td>ВЎ</td> </tr><tr> <td>C2 A2</td> <td>Вў</td> </tr></table> </body> </html>
    It was tested in several devices and looks ok everywhere except Nokia 3650. What to do?
