Receive SMS when application is off

    Hi,
is it possible for a Symbian application receives the notification of an incoming message when it's off also?

In j2me there is the possibility to register a midlet to a push registry and the midlet is started when a message arrived on a specific port.

Is there a similar process in symbian?

    Thank you

basically you could try using Biomessaging for this purpose, or you could just build background server for monitoring the messaging folders.

you could have a look into client-server example applcations shipped with SDKs. Just modify them to stay running also after the last client connection is lost. Then of course you need to make some other way (like sending a command from client) to tell server when it needs to shut down.
