Lightbulb ftp library in Nokia 6680?

As announced on the nokia forum start page for November 3rd:
    Series 60 Platform: FTP Example

This C++ example demonstrates the usage of the FTP (File Transfer Protocol) Service API that allows connecting to and disconnecting from a remote FTP server. The FTP library package provided within the example is required in order to use FTP. It is supported in Series 60 Platform 2nd Edition FP1, FP2, and FP3 devices.
Does this mean there is already a ftp library on the FP1-FP3 devices ?? I only found a file sconftp.dll on drive Z. The last time I tried Nokia 6600 with ftp, only to be reminded the API documentation forgot to say it works only in the emulator . Does anyone know more about FTP support in especially series60 FP2 devices?
thanks in advance fellow symbian warriors.

The current phones don't have FTP libraries, but these libraries for FP1-FP3 devices will be published with the FTP example. After you install these FTP libraries to your phone, you can start using FTP APIs in the device.

Unfortunately the FTP libraries support only devices from S60 2nd editition with Feature Pack 1 onwards. 6600 is a S60 2nd edition device (i.e. no feature packs).

Thumbs up Re: ftp library in Nokia 6680?

    Hello,
I installed the libs, followed by the example SIS file. When trying the example , I get "Connection error 2" , is there a list of error messages for the ftp example?
    Thanks !

addon: working now with same parameters, must have been network problems! Great new functionality btw! Thanks nokia.

Re: ftp library in Nokia 6680?

For the 6600, is it possible to install this "feature packs" or components needed thru a .sis file ? or is this definitively impossible ?

    Thanks for any answer,
    Domi.

I'm sorry but it's definitely impossible to install feature packs to your 6600 (or to any device for that matter).
