    WAP / HTTP

I have this app working perfectly on all Nokia phones, however...

When I put it onto a Motorola phone I can only access either WAP or HTTP, so when I download say - a ringtone - I have to have the settings as WAP. When I use my app - which needs HTTP - I need to have the settings as HTTP.

This is very frustrating as I keep having to switch between two account settings.

The provider is Vodafone, the handsets are a V550 and a V3.

Does anyone know the browser accounts settings that will work for both. It is a shame really, on a Samsung phone the vodafone settings are set to point to teh vodafone WAP apn yet it still works with my HTTP app.

    Any input, help appreciated.

    Re: WAP / HTTP

For Motorola phones, under "Web Access"->"Web Sessions", include a new entry called "Java Session" that points to your Internet APN.

Are you sure about that the Samsung phone works using only the WAP APN? I have much difficulty using Samsung phones of different groups, but the common trait is that you need to switch between the WAP and internet APN, the former to download the MIDlet, and the latter for accessing the network from within the java application.

Thanks, I just found the web sessions thing on Motocoder...

Yes, the Samsung phone works over the WAP apn. It seem some deivces on some airtime providers don't mind HTTP requests over WAP. Which makes the whole thing even more frustrating.
