    It is still E32 format, but based on ELF. Pre-Symbian 9 is based on PE.
    There is no PETRAN any more, now they call it ELFTRAN.

    Yes, the executable in Symbian OS 9 is different from 8. Symbian OS 9 is based on ELF, while Symbian OS 8 is based on PE.

    And there are some differences in the E32 header because Symbian has introduced capability, vendor ID, secure ID, etc.

    So, both formats, either in Symbian OS 8 or 9, are still called E32, but they are not compatible.

    do u know how can i create an executable?i can create only .app from series60 appwizard
    but i want to make an exfor my server.if u know please help me
