Post Transmit data to web server?

    Newbie here, so go easy.

I have an application that requires a small (4 words) bit of information to go to a web server.

My question is how to transmit this information? At the moment i have it working on the emulator using HTTP. However, Internet charges are $$ (in Australia) and most people don't have Internet services enabled; so i was thinking of using SMS (cheap and most people use it).

How would you send data via SMS to a web server?

If anyone has a better idea then im all ears. Cost is the biggest issue, followed by device compatibility and minimal device configuration.

    Thanks in advanced.
