    programatically set access point

I have an application that sets up a simple http connection which works fine. However the user is presented with the phone's 'allow app to access the internet?' question and then 'select access point' question.

    1) Is there anyway to programatically select the access point
    2) Is there any way to get rid of the 'allow permission' question - by signing the app maybe?

    Any help is appreciated

    1) No, only in Symbian C++.
    2) Yes, signing the midlet, you get rid of the popup. The only other way is to instruct your users to give permission in the Settings option menu.

    Re: programatically set access point

Am I right in thinking that some phones use a default or prefered access point rather than asking the user for one? How do you find out which phones do this? The 6630 doesn't seem to ahve this capability

From what I heard there is a menu selection on Series 40 phones for handling this. I don't think it is possible from java to do it programmatically
