How to change screen mode / resolution on S60 3rd edition devices?

    Hi,

how can I change the "screen mode" or screen resolution for my application in a S60 3rd edition device? We have a skinnable UI and currently use a background image that is 176x208 pixels big.

The N80 prototype that we use for testing has a resolution of 352x416 by default (background image takes up 1/4 of the screen estate). We want to set the screen mode (for our application only) back to 176x208 so the background image fills out the complete screen again.

Does anybody know if this is possible and how we can do this?

Do you really want to do this? Everything looks _so_ much nicer in full resolution, so I'd definitely recommend using the full resolution, unless you have a very good reason not to. If you still want to do it, and that skin is the only problem, a simple solution would be to just stretch it yourself, either in your app or during the build process.
