    Emulator IMEI

    I've searched the forum and found multiple threads describing how to get the emulator/device IMEI using a piece of code. But is the emulator's IMEI written in a text file or similar somewhere in the SDK tree? So that I wouldn't need to write a piece of code every time I need to check the IMEI of an emulator.

    Re: Emulator IMEI

    I found this one
    \Symbian\7.0s\S80_DP2_0_SDK\epoc32\release\wins\udeb\z\system\simudataconfig.dat

    line 13 contains:
    iPhoneId.iSerialNumber ("123456").

    Can anyone confirm that this is the correct one?

    Anyway if you change the value of iPhoneId.iSerialNumber property your IMEI Emulator will (hopefully) change too.
    I tested it this morning with series 80 SDK and emulator and it works fine.
    To get the emulator on a GUI application I used the following code:

    TPlpVariantMachineId machineId;
    PlpVariant::GetMachineIdL(machineId);

    Re: Emulator IMEI

    I managed to find also this:

    \Symbian\8.0a\S60_2nd_FP2_CW\Epoc32\winscw\c\system\data\imei.txt

    The file has one entry which looks like a real IMEI code:

    PIMEI:xxxxxx...

    Unfortunately, this file seems to only exist in S60_2nd_FP2_CW SDK... Is it so, that only the CW SDKs use an IMEI that mimics a real device IMEI? And the other SDKs use 123456 as their IMEI?
