I am wondering what is the protocol used to access the comm port on Nokia 9500 communicator. According to the Symbian overview of version 7 of the operating system there is USB 2.0, Bluetooth and IR for communication but the there is a RS232C server. The phone and the series 80 emulator return "no protocol found" for the usual "comm:0;baudrate=9600" used in midp2.
The phone throws an exception when the System.getProperty("microedition.commports") is called. Surely this should return IR ports too? On the emulator 0 and 1 are returned. I have also seen a nokiacomm:0.
Does anyone know what are the protocols available in class com.symbian.midp.io.protocol.comm.Protocol or is there another class I should be looking for?
The goal of the project is to read blood pressure values from a sensor.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
