    Re: memory card help?

Be careful there are two types of reduced MMC, the first one supports one voltage only (3V) and the second supports two voltages (1.8V and 3V).

N70 supports only DV-RS MMC, so if you buy RS MMC, it will not work.

Check this page out, http://mobile.antonypranata.com/?p=8, to find out more about different types of MMCs.

I use an USB card reader to copy everything to a PC first, and then to a new card.

Yes, Petri is right. Copying from original MMC to your new MMC should work.
However, if you are using S60 3.x devices, like N71, N80, ..., that won't work because of Platform Security.

    Re: memory card help?

As petrib has said, use USB memory card reader (there are PCMCIA version too, if you want).

Insert your MMC from Orange to the reader, copy all the files to your PC, e.g. c:\temp\mymmc. Then remove your Orange's MMC and then insert your new MMC. The last step, copy all files from c:\temp\mymmc to your new MMC.

There is another possibility, i.e. re-install all the applications from the PC. There is a product support page at http://www.nokia.co.uk/nokia/0,,77615,00.html for N70. You can download all add-on applications and then install them all to your new MMC.

Yes, if you use memory card reader on the PC, it will copy all files, including applications.

However, as I said it works only on S60 pre-3.x. N70 is based on S60 2.x, so it should work for your case.

    Re: memory card help?

You're right. You won't be able to see \system folder using PC Suite.
PC Suite hides this folder, however it should be visible if you use USB card reader.
