run console app on s60 3rd emulator

I'm using carbide.c++ and s60 sdk 3rd. I generated the defaut Symbian OS C++ project and Basic console application (EXE) with carbide.c++. I also removed the "Emulator or host application" in debug->main dialog. I run the exe and I got the "Hello world" and "[press any key]" message. Then the program did not stop and waiting. It continued to load the graphic UI. Did it suppose to stop at the message? What's wrong with my sdk? Thanks

The program did stop at that point. However the emulator continues to load and you application gets sent to background. Once the emulator start-up complete you will find your application running (and waiting for your input) in the task list (long press the "menu key" button).

To "solve" the problem you need to switch the emulator in textshell mode by editing (replacing) the epoc.ini or by passing the "-Dtextshell --" parameter to your exe. Search for "textshell" in SDK's documentation.
