    OpenGL ES and shader support

    Hi,

Does OpenGL 1.0 support shaders or is it only OpenGL ES 2.0?

    Thanks!

Re: OpenGL ES and shader support

    Hi.

OpenGL ES 1.x specifications (1.0 and 1.1) are fixed function APIs and do not include any (shader) programmable features.

OpenGL ES 2.x (2.0) is a pure shader API (contrary to desktop OpenGL 2.0, which includes fixed function and shader parts that can be used in "mixed-mode").

OpenGL ES 2.0 does not include fixed function vertex or fragment processing, but it does include fixed function frame buffer operations.
