    Lets clarify the MMS process...

    I want to go over the MMS process with my questions? Any comment would be appreciated.

    1. I installed the Adobe GoLive 6.
    (http://www.adobe.com/products/golive/tryreg.html)
    2. I installed the Nokia Developer's Suite for MMS.
    3. I installed the MMSC EAIF Emulator.
    4. I coded my first SMIL document as follows:
    <smil>
    <head>
    <layout>
    <root-layout width="?160?" height="?120?/"/>
    <region id="imageregion" height="80px" width="160px" left="0px" top="0px" fit="fill"/>
    <region id="textregion" height="40px" width="160px" left="0px" top="80px"/>
    </layout>
    </head>
    <body>
    <par end="10s">
    <img region="imageregion" src="a.jpg" begin="0s" end="10s"/>
    <text region="textregion" src="a.txt" begin="0s" end="10s"/>
    </par>
    <par end="10s">
    <img region="imageregion" src="b.jpg" begin="0s" end="10s"/>
    <text region="textregion" src="b.txt" end="10s"/>
    </par>
    </body>
    </smil>
    5. Save the file as test.smil (Don't try any extension other than .smil or else GoLive will not recognize it as a SMIL document.)
    6. I put a.jpg, a.txt, b.jpg, b.txt in to the same directory where test.smil resides.
    7. From the Nokia Tools menu in GoLive, selected MMS Encapsulation, my question here is how are we going to fill that part? If somebody gives me sample text for the following fields, I will be happy:
    From:
    To:
    Cc:
    Bcc:
    Subject:
    8. Next one is Wrap MMS to HTTP. Againg fields to be filled:
    Host: (Is it http://localhost?)
    Port: (This should be the listening port of MMSC EAIF, I guess)
    To:
    From:
    Charging:
    9. I started the MMSC EAIF. Choosed the Originating Application.
    10. Most exciting part: Selected Deploy from Nokia Tools menu. Choosed Server.
    Host: (Again is it http://localhost?)
    Port: (I assume the listening port of MMSC EAIF Originating Application)
    However when I click Send, nothing happens in the MMSC EAIF. The Deploy to Server window gives "Error sending message".
    What am I missing?
    Good luck to everyone...
    Alper K.

    RE: Lets clarify the MMS process...

    According to the specs, the From: and To: fields are required when encapsulating an MMS (so use your telephone number). The cc, bcc and subject fields don't need to be filled in. I'm afraid I can't help you more than this because I'm not using GoLive.

    RE: Lets clarify the MMS process...

    Hello - not sure I can get all your questions answered, but maybe I can help a little. First of all about your SMIL.

    Looks good, except region ids should be "image" and "text", not "imageregion", etc...

    7. From the Nokia Tools menu in GoLive, selected MMS Encapsulation, my question here is how are we going to fill that part? If somebody gives me sample text for the following fields, I will be happy:
    From:+12345/TYPE=PLMN
    To:+56789/TYPE=PLMN
    Cc: just leave it blank
    Bcc: just leave it blank
    Subject: some text here if you want - it's optional

    8. Next one is Wrap MMS to HTTP. Againg fields to be filled:
    Host: 127.0.0.1
    Port: 8189 (as you said - port that EAIF emulator is listening to)
    To: (leave blank)
    From: (leave blank)
    Charging: (leave blank)
    9. I started the MMSC EAIF. Choosed the Originating Application.
    10. Most exciting part: Selected Deploy from Nokia Tools menu. Choosed Server.
    Host: should be filled w/values from step 8
    Port: should be filled w/values from step 8

    However when I click Send, nothing happens in the MMSC EAIF. The Deploy to Server window gives "Error sending message".

    Check the manuals for EAIF emulator if you still have problems.
