Smile carbide symbian S60 v3.0 setup

    Hello
I am trying to set up carbide C++ with the series 60 SKD ver 3.0 from Nokia. I have installed carbide C++ and the SDK including the CSL ARM Toolchain. I followed one of their tutorials which is very simply running the ‘helloworld’ application.

Upon compiling I am returned the error
    Checking: and
    Checking: Settings\MarkPo\workspace\hellotoeveryone\gfx\qgn_menu_hellotoeveryone.svg
    Choosing...

    ERROR: File not found and.bmp

I was wondering where I can obtain this missing file and where is it meant to go?

    Thanks for any input.

You have a workspace with blanks in the path, check Installation guide or the FAQ at the top of this discussion board: http://discussion.forum.nokia.com/fo...ad.php?t=74925.

I have another problem: when importing

    C:\Symbian\9.1\S60_3rd\S60Ex\helloworldbasic\group\helloworldbasic.mmp

    I get

    Error: cpp: unrecognized option `-+'.

My workspace is located on C:\wrk\workspace_carbide. Importing with 'Copy source files...' on.

OK, works now, but only when I start Carbide from command line. I may have an incompatible setup (I normally use command line, bat for environment setup etc). But would be nice to know what goes wrong when starting Carbide from menus.

Re: carbide symbian S60 v3.0 setup

    Hello,
I have SDK 3rd ed too and use Carbide C++ 1.0. In the previous editions of the SDK I was using the ARMI Release. But now I tried rebuilding my project under 3rd ed and there is no ARMI Release. Does anyone know where this can be downloaded from? I understand the ARMI compiler is a separate download from the SDK. I've tried looking all over the web for downloading this but I'm unsuccessful. It would be great if someone already knows the link to this download.
    Thanks!

You should use GCCE to generate device code, not ARMI (unless you buy the separate RVCT compiler from ARM).
