    Contact name problem

    Hi
I am using 3100 model I have one problem with my mobile
I had stored 2 contacts with different name their numbers are like below

    988abcdefg
    999abcdefg
But when call comes or dialed, the mobile cann't differentiate the numbers(contacts).
Do you have any fix for this problem?

    Re: Contact name problem

Seems like the phone only uses the last 7 digits to differentiate (instead of checking the whole number) & thus doesn't know which name to display.

Unless Nokia has a newer firmware release which uses more digits (or the complete number), your only options are to live with the problem, or ask either one of the persons to change their phone number.

    Re: Contact name problem

Actually all Nokia phones only use the last 7 digits in a number to recognize who is calling/sending SMS.

As far as I know there are no fix for any Nokia model regarding this.
