Creating a Input form interface for the user on MIDP2.0

    Hi,

I am pretty new to mobile programming and i need to develop a input form for the user to input his details. There are around 10 fields on the form. But the problem is, the application requires not to have the visible textfield items. Whats required is to have some place after the label where the control shifts automatically and the user can input there.
I just want to remove the visiblity of the textfield item.

Can any body help me out with this.

    Thanks in advance.

You want to have a textfield, which does not look like a textfield (so it is less visible before user starts inputting the text)? You could create a CustomItem, which allows you to define yourself how the item looks like and how the user interacts with it. But I probably did not get what you were after...

Hi Hartti thanks for the update.

What i am looking for is a simple input form for a user. Now i have tried it with MIDP Forms and used TextField item in it. But i was not able to control the text field label and text box.

When the size of the text box is more it is comming below the label. Now if i have a string item for label then also the text box is comming in new line.
What the requirement is to have the text box and text label in the same line and proper layout for all such text boxes on the form. Moreover the look of the text box should not be like a text box, what should be there is that the user fills in the input on a dotted line and that input is used by the application.

The cursur should automatically come on the dotted line where it is required.
Any idea how this can be achivied ?

Thanks for any suggestion put in.

Like he said, you can achieve this by doing all the legwork by yourself. This means you either make a CustomItem (only MIDP 2.0 phones support this), or move all your Forms into a Canvas (which means you'll have to implement all the functionality, not just the textboxes). Another route you can go through is to license one fo the open source widget libraries (like J2ME Polish or Synclast) and modify them to suite your needs.
