    FileConnection API with new Firmware

    Hi Guys,
I own a Nokia N70 and have been developing an application on it using Java J2ME for the last six months.
I am using the fileConnection API (JSR-75) and the Bluetooth API (JSR-82).
Everything was working fine until i got the latest verison of the firmware V5.0609.2.0.1 installed on it today and now the fileConnection API doesnt work.I cant now access the various files that are saved on my phone.
Has anybody else had this problem or can anyone think of a workaround?
Please help as this is driving me crazy
    Thanks
    Chris

Ouch, and I thought firmware upgrades were generally good.

Did it(the firmware) maybe alter your midlet or all the midlet suite settings?

Did it alter the CA Certificates, if you were signed?

Does the API exist at all anymore?

Are you getting security exceptions, depending on where you are reading/writing/listing

Does not sound pleasant, please pOST if you figure it out!

Re: FileConnection API with new Firmware

After hours of playing around with code it turned out to be the MIDlet suite settings that had been altered due to enhanced security in the firmware version.
For those of you that dont know where they are, go to:

    Menu::Tools::Manager::[App Name]::Suite Settings

In there you can alter setting such as 'read user data' and 'write user data' and set security preferences for these.
If you change the settings to 'ask every time' or 'always allow' then your app is allowed to access file structure (even though it does ask your permission every time you access a new file - how annoying !).

    Cheers guys
