"Installation security error" when installing signed midlet on 6680.

Guys we passed http://www.javaverified.com process and target device was Nokia 6680. To our great surprise, we are unable to install this midlet and we got certificate related error "Installation security error". I've searched Knowledge base and found that I have to check presence of Geotrust UTI certificate. Of course this certificate is present on phone valid until 2024.

Does anyone heard about similar case? Testing house that provided digital signature has no idea what's going on.

    Thanks

dusanbaranec, arent you the guy that had several devices available for testing, including the 6101?

when i tried installing a verisign signed midlet on the 6101, it would not install, I wonder if it will install your app, as I believe the UTI certificate was also on that device.

Just curious as to whether it is a bug with Nokia, i.e. cannot install any signed app on some devices, regardless of CA, of course, probably unless your an operator or manufacturer.

Nobody from Nokia will reply with regards to my POST on the 6101 issues, so I now, feel it is some sort of conspirarcy, i.e. to get bugged devices to market, then fixe em (supposedly like windows ; ) though I love MicroSoft!)

P.S: We tested N 6111 and there are no installation problems on this model. Midlet we have is signed by Geotrust UTI certificate.

    ooops, sorry!

I ran into Samsung x495, t809, and Nokia 6101 and 6102, thus far not being able to install a signed midlet using Verisign's certificate

As well as not allowing internet connections from MIDlets

And do you have this section in JAD?

    MIDlet-Permissions: javax.microedition.io.PushRegistry,javax.microedition.io.Connector.http,javax.microedition.media.control.VideoControl.getSnapshot
    MicroEdition-Profile: MIDP-2.0

Re: "Installation security error" when installing signed midlet on 6680.

yes, i had it as required, as well as trying with optional

Note: I only had http, as that was all I was using at time, just a simple http test MIDlet, I did find that some companies, seem or could name them differently as with motorolas...
    com.motorola.file.readaccess
    com.motorola.file.writeaccess

    Where it might normally be...
    javax.microedition.io.Connector.file.read javax.microedition.io.Connector.file.write

I also have this link, of my post, which describes the issue further

Thanks, my problem is solved. I've had different Date format: dd-mm-yyyy. It must be mm-dd-yyyy

What do you mean dusanbaranec, in your jad, in the certificate?

and that is wierd, as isnt mm-dd-yyyy more commonly used in U. states, you'd think it would be opposite.

doh, but the installer does not let you know it was the date, does it, i.e. the error was just generic.

The installers are such arse's, as they give the most generic of errors when OTA downloading
