Thumbs down Carbide.c++ Express don't want build HelloWorld

    Dear coders,

Maybe my problem not hard for you, but I'm beginner. I have install Nokia SDK for Series 60 Symbian 9.1, Perl as described in Installation notes and ofcoarse Carbide.c++ express

    So my problem here:
    1) I run Carbide.c++
    2) Make FILE -> NEW -> Symbian OS C++ project
    3) There I select name for new project - HelloCarbide with enabled chechbox (as default)
    4) Press next and select Symbian Executale Project and there select S60 3.x GUI Application and Next, Finish.

All this steps I see in build-in tutorials in Carbide.

Then I make PROJECTS -> Build project.

After some timeof compiling I see in "Problems window" next data:

As you can understand - I'm very mad! What this is it?

Anyone can explaine me, how need to make it working ????

    Thank you very much,

    Anton from Ukraine.

Anton, based on this error it looks like you have spaces in your workspace. Symbian perl scripts don't work well with spaces in paths. So please make sure you have no spaces in your workspace. Try

    1) File > Switch Workspace
    2) Type in somemthing like C:\Symbian\Carbide\MyWorksapce\
(will create folder if it doesn't exist)
    3) Then Carbide will restart. Re-create your project.

Next release will change the default workspace not to have spaces in it.

And in folder c:/myapp/azareov/S60 3.0 Phone (GCCE) Release in the SIS folder i don't see SIS file.

    But one generated in c:/myapp/azareov/sis/

that sis I uploaded to phone and when trying to install, phone show me error, like File damaged or something similar.

Do you have readty-to-compile simple project that I can test?

Re: Carbide.c++ Express don't want build HelloWorld

Unfortunately the 3.0 SDK does generate a number of warnings, if you want to get rid of them you can edit the files indicated. Warnings in general can be ignored.

With the standard 3.0 template, the sis file is created into the /sis directory, not in /S60 3.0 Phone (GCCE) Release.

What phone are you trying to install on, are you sure it is a 3.0 phone?

Re: Carbide.c++ Express don't want build HelloWorld

You cannot develop for the 6630 with the 3.0 SDK, so this will most certainly prevent you from installing on the phone (if you can get as far as getting a .sis file). To check what SDK is needed for what phone, go to: http://www.forum.nokia.com/main/0,,1...matrixType=s60, in this case you need S60 2nd edition FP2.

I don't follow you here: "I can't decompile that SIS on my PC. PC show me error - "Can't open file"? To install on the phone you should use eg the Nokia PC Suite as discussed in the Carbide Help. Once PC Suite is installed, double-click on the .sis file will open the Application installer that downloads the file to the phone and starts the installation on the phone.

Re: Carbide.c++ Express don't want build HelloWorld

    Hi,
I had the same issue and I solved that installing S60 2nd edition FP2. Now I'm able to create the sis file, to install this in my nokia 6630 and to read on disply "HelloWorld"
    ;-)
