Question XHTML-sites for all Nokia models

Does anyone know how to define same mobile site to scale for different mobile models? My mobile site appears different depending on mobilephone.

Re: XHTML-sites for all Nokia models

    hai,

I think the solution for your problem would be to create a unique Cascading Style Sheet for every model . Download the features of the cell phones (ex : Series 40, series 60,70 etc) from the nokia website. Then according to the features given there design your style sheet.

The whole thing should work like this !!!! Whenever you request a page ,
the cell phone's info should be sent along with the request. By seeing the info in the request the server will decide which style sheet should be added to the available content and accordingly the modified page will be sent to the browser.

Hope this will be helpful to you!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
If there is any other way , do share it here!!!!!!!!!1

Seems that a device adaption mechanism needs to be implemented. How this works , is that the device is identified from the request, and than matched againts a device repository(xml file or database) that includes device classes and associated attributes such as screen size, content supported (xHTML and WML), picture support, CSS support etc etc.

Based upon that, you may customize content to each device class eg(PDA, WML devices, XHTML devices).

Also, there are solutions that can help with this. Check-out Volantis Multichannel Server which works well and also the Java open source WURFL and WALL projects.

    Regards
