Problem with Thawte certificate in the S60 v3 emulator

    Hi,
I have my application signed using the Thawte Premium server certificate. This works fine on SE phones. The app runs in the trusted third party domain.

However, when I try and load the signed jad/jar file in the Series 60 ver 3 emulator, I get a message saying "Certificate Error, please contact the application provider" or something like that.

I can see that the emulator has the same Thawte Premuim server Root certificate in it, so I can't understand what could be wrong.

How accurate is the emulation of the MIDP certificate handling in the S60 v3 emulator. Can I count on the same problems if I try it on a real device?
Anyone has any ideas what could be the problem.

Thawte certs has a chain of 3 certs in them, and because of this I get 3 MIDlet-Certificate-1-n lines in the jad file. The last cert in the chain is the Thawte root cert that's in the phone. I remember reading somewhere that the jad file must not contain the root cert, but how can I avoid getting the root cert in the jad file, since it's put there by the signing tool automatically.
Here is the certificate chain that's included in the Certificate.

Re: Problem with Thawte certificate in the S60 v3 emulator

    Hi,

I checked all the certificates present in the emulator, but none of them is selected for "Java installation", which should be true.

Have you tested with a self-signed certificate? How is the behavior of the other SDKs when you install your signed midlet?

If you want, you can put your application somewhere and I'll download it and try to install it in one of my devices, which is a 3rd. edition.

    Daniel
