    Sending SMS/MMS using PC Suite

Do most PC connectivity suites allow us to type text messages (or mms) on the PC's keyboard and send it via the device ?

Where is this option normally listed in ?

    Thanks

I thought this would be something extremely common since we can connect it to the PC, we should be able to send/receive sms like sync - just like synchronizing contacts etc.

Re: Sending SMS/MMS using PC Suite

if device is connected to pc, and pc suite is functioning, the modem driver should be installed

right click, my computer icon on desktop
    go to properties

    hardware/device manager

look under modems, is the device lsited? mine shows nokia 6630 usb
right click the device, if listed and go to properties
    click the modem tab
at top, should say com port, mine says COM 4

    now go to start->programs->accessories->communications->hyperterminal
(if not there, you need to install it, thats a diff forum ; ) )

when it opens ht, name the connection whatever
next screen select drop down "connect using" and change to your COM # mine is 4.

if device is listed as nokia 6630 usb, dont select that as it will try to dial through it, you want the com port

next screen is just the white main screen, press enter a few times
    then type AT
you should get a response of OK

    congrats, your talkng with device
