    about Recordcontrol

    hi all,


    player = Manager.createPlayer("capture://video");
    player.realize();
    videoControl = (VideoControl)(player.getControl("VideoControl"));
    rc = (RecordControl)player.getControl("RecordControl");
    System.out.println("RC"+rc);

    RC=null;

    here Rc gives null value ?why?

    I want to record video image using player and its recordtime is upto 5 min

    can anybody help me?

    Page 14 has relevant information regarding RecordControl.

    3.5 Recording Sound and Video
    Sound and video recording can be done by using RecordControl. On the S60 platform, sound and video recording is supported from 2nd Edition onwards. Currently the Series 40 platform does not support sound recording, and Nokia 6280 is the first Series 40 device that supports video recording. You can check the support by using the following system properties:

    • supports.audio.capture — for audio recording
    • supports.video.capture — for video recording

    These properties return true if recording is supported.

    it throws a null value because Recordcontrol is not supported on ur cell phone

    Try using any of cellphones that support Nokia S40 3rd edition feature pack 2 and above
