45x45 (pixels) ~ Content pane icon
    42x29 (pixels) ~ List icon

For those I just use 8bit and 72Dpi.

Re: icon image size for nokia 6670

I'm using a 42x29 bmp and mask that I found off the internet. I cant get it to show up on my phone. I tried it in list grid and grid view, and I can never view it. I've generated my .aif using the icon.bmp and icon_mask.bmp, and when I install it on the phone I dont get any warnings saying that the .sis file might be of the wrong format or anything (I had been getting that earlier with the wrong size icon). I've check my UIDs and they all match. I don't have any clue why it's not working. Any ideas?

Would you like to post your AIF section of your MMP file?

If you auto generated your project the graphics will need to be named list_icon.bmp and list_icon_mask.bmp (which how they are usually named by default).

At this point I dont need to mess with a .mbm file. Maybe after I get this simple program to run I'll try it. Why would you have to name your .bmp's a particular name with the program wizard in Codewarrior? Is there a way to change that somewhere (like in a project file or something).

If you do not know what a MMP file is then I suggest you rename your icons to the names I mentioned before.

    That is, list_icon.bmp and list_icon_mask.bmp

Sorry, I misread your previous post. I thought you typed mbm, not mmp. I know what an MMP is. I've included the following AIF line in it:

    AIF PROJECT1.aif ..\src project1aif.rss c8 list_icon.bmp list_icon_mask.bmp

I've renamed the files to the above recommended names and I still get the same results. I was asking about how they specify the names other than on this line becuase I want to understand it. I have noticed this, and I hope it might help:

if I generate my sis file without the aif file, the size of the sis is 76k.
If I generate my sis file with the aif file, the size of the sis is 77k.

This makes me beleive that the sis file is included the aif file of size 750 bytes.

However, the file manger on the phone says that the installed application is of size 236k, regardless of the fact that i did/didn't include the AIF file. I do not know how the filing system works on the phone so this might be correct. The APP file of my sis is of size 236k.
