    S60 emulator - audio/video capture

    Hi,

I am using the S60 emulator that comes with the 3rd Edition of the Nokia SDK.

I am trying to capture audio but the emulator doesn't seem to support capture.

    System.getProperty("supports.audio.capture")
    System.getProperty("supports.recording")

    returns false for both.

a list of protocols supprted - Manager.getSupportedProtocols(null) - returned the following list which does not include capture
    device
    http
    https
    file

Is this an option that can be turned on in the emulator?

    thanks
    Ajay

    Hi Mahesh Sharma,

Just a tip, you should start your own thread and not hijack an existing one, so that people will be able to address your questions directly, ok?

    Re: S60 emulator - audio/video capture - RTSP

Well I should have read the release notes thoroughly.

the emulator does not support audio/video capture.

But any ideas about RTSP with Java MIDlets. The release notes says Real Player on the emulator does not support streaming - does that mean you cannot stream via a MIDlet either.

    thanks

    Re: S60 emulator - audio/video capture

    Hi ajaybrar,

    Check the thread below
    http://discussion.forum.nokia.com/fo...369#post204369

    I assume you're talking about RTSP - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/RTSP

I'm not of an expert of that but as far as i surveyed support in Nokia devices is limited and only on top S60 phones and Series 40 3rd Edtion phones.

    Check this doc:

    http://sw.nokia.com/id/0c825e76-e2a0...AQ_v2_0_en.pdf

    Hope it helps!
