    ASP and "<%" not work!

    I am using IIS, NMIT4.1 and NMB 4.0. The simulator cannot process the ASP code "<%..". Are there any setting I need to config to perform script?

    I can do it with UP simulator. So that I think the IIS is no problem. Or I need to config the IIS to do so.

    Please help !

    let say, I have a detect.asp that can get the info of the simulator. It's work in OPEN WAVE 7.0 simulator. But it doesn't work in Nokia NMB 4.0, it shows the <%...(seems cannot read the script). I also using NMIT 4.1 and NWGS 4.0. Any One Can HELP !

    <?xml version='1.0'?>
    <% Response.ContentType="application/vnd.wap.xhtml+xml" %>
    <wml>
    <card id="card1" title="Agent">
    <p>
    <% =Request.ServerVariables("HTTP_USER_AGENT") %>
    </p>
    </card>
    </wml>

    PS: I have try WML, XHTML or ASP, all of them doesn't work in NWB...

    Re: ASP and "<%" not work!

    Hai,
    I dont know what is the problem with your setup as my coding in xhtml-mp worked!!!!!!!!

    Its a good practice to include the DTD for the language you are using ,which I did not find in your coding .

    Here is what I did ...............

    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?>

    <!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//WAPFORUM//DTD XHTML Mobile 1.0//EN"
    "http://www.wapforum.org/DTD/xhtml-mobile10.dtd" >

    <%
    Response.ContentType = "application/vnd.wap.xhtml+xml"
    %>

    <html xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml">
    <head>
    <title>Tryout-1</title>
    </head>
    <body>
    <p>
    <% =Request.ServerVariables("HTTP_USER_AGENT") %>
    </p>

    </body>
    </html>

    I saved this as 'tryoutv1.asp' file then I created a virtual directory in the IIS which contains this file.

    Now using the NMB I accessed this page by mentioning the IP address and the virtual directory path..(U will be knowing all these things)

    My path via IIS : http://192.168.1.15/iw_wapsite/aspv2/tryoutv1.asp

    and I got the result as.............

    "Nokia Mobile Browser 4.0"

    Start trying from the scratch ....hope you get it right.

    Re: ASP and "<%" not work!

    Thanks iwchella

    But I have the other problem, when I save it as .asp, then it always show "File not find".

    I just want to write a login applicaton.
    1. the user enter the login and password through the phone and send to server (login.xhtml)
    2. Then, the server side (processing.asp) connect the database and validate the login and password.
    3. the user know he is login.

    Any one know how to do? I have try it using OPENWAVE7.0, it's work ! But I cannot try it using sony ericsion phone (k750i) or nokia simulator (NMB4.0).

    Re: ASP and "<%" not work!

    Hai,

    Are you getting the "file not found" msg when you enter the "filename.xhtml" in your NMB browser , if so then it is due to the reason that you have not yet configured the MIME settings in your IIS .
    First you have to do that !!!!!!!!!

    But you have said that you cannot even access the .asp file. I dont know the reason why !!!!!!!!! that is happening .

    Explain your problem more elaborately or post your code!!!!!!!!

    Regards
    Chinna
