    rms stability

    Hi
I wonder how safe is the recordstore supposing that i am storing sensitive data of my application in the rms.
Is it advisable to store sensitive data in the rms and nobody can read or modify it? Also how stable is the rms...is it possible that all the data may get erased due to some reason?

    thanks
    manas

    Re: rms stability

I would not store sensitive data in the rms.
The recordstore is not encrypted, so with a memory card reader it is possible to read the contents of recordstore. Other midlets cannot access it, unless the midlet creating the recordstore gives permissions to other midlets to access it (when recorstore is created).

RecordStore will be erased when the midlet is erased, otherwise data should stay intact (unless the midlet itself erases it)

I do think RMS is not reliable as well because I was having some bugs as well when I used it There are problems in deleting record in RMS.Number of people are having the same problem.

I would rather suggest you to store data in files rather then RMS.
    Cheers,
    Manan
