    Hide Default Exit Command Button

    Hi! Does anyone know how to hide the exit command button in the nokia series 80 which is automatically inserted by itself? I need to hide the exit command button because if the user select the default button, my application is still running at the background. I have created a new exit command button by using Command.EXIT and it end up there are 2 exit buttons in the device. Please help!

    Thanks in advance.

    hi,

    void CMyappi::DynInitMenuPaneL (TInt aResourceId, CEikMenuPane* aMenuPane)
    {
    if (aResourceId == R_My_MENU_PANE)
    {

    {

    aMenuPane->SetItemDimmed(urcoomandtobe, dimItem);
    }
    }

    Re: Hide Default Exit Command Button

    AFAIK, From a Java app, you cannot remove the Exit command. That exit command is added automatically by the VM on S60/S80 devices.
    IMHO, The only way to get rid of it is using a FullCanvas. There have been several similar discussions in this regard, please search the forum.

    Mateen, You have posted Symbian C++ code in the Java section of Forum! ;)

    Hi YHat,

    Gopal is right in this regard, unfortunately. It's not that bad, though...

    Mateen,
    Its ok, :-) I just mentioned that you dont accidentially post Symbian C++ code in Java threads in the future ;) As you already had a similar experience here!

    Re: Hide Default Exit Command Button

    Hi everyone. Thanks for the replies. I have solved my problem by adding timer.cancel into the destroyApp. So no matter where the user select the Exit command, it will trigger the destroyApp and will close my timer automatically. Thanks a lot :)
