To Nokia Experts (A problem in signed midlet)

    Hi All,

I have a problem with two signed jars ,
We have two signed applications from the Java Verfied Program , but unfortunately when we installed them to the device we have a wrong alert that says "Certificate not on phone or SIM"

The first application was tested against Nokia 6280, and the second application was tested against Nokia 7370 .
I have an answer from our test house that Nokia told them to check the following:
    - date and time are correctly set in the device

    - SIM card is in the device

    - all attributes are exactly the same in JAD and JAR manifest

    - all required permissions are defined in JAD

    - only those permissions which are supported in the device are used

    - JAR file size is not bigger than max size supported by the device

I checked all these points , And there is another note thatr we have installed the signed jar to 6233 and 6131 and it worked well.

Could any one please help me with this problem, and what can cause this?

There should be a certificate called something like "UTI..." or "Geotrust CA for UTI" on your device. Can you check that this certificate exists and that application signing is allowed for that (however I do not see any reason for the certificate missing from the phone).
You can find the certificate list in Settings, Security, Certificate list...

Additionally, what is the firmware version and is the phone an operator variant? You can find out the firmware by pressing *#0000# while on the idle screen.

    Hi Hartti ;

Thanks a lot for your reply, your information was so valuable, it cleared the state.
For the devices we have I checked the certificate list (Settings, Security, Authority Certificates, Certificate list) but unfortunately I didn't find "UTI..." or "Geotrust CA for UTI" and the only one that the application signing is allowed for is "Nokia Content Signing CA"

The first device is Nokia 6280 with firmware:
    V 04.30
    25-04-06
    RM-78

The second device is 7370 with firmware:
    V 03.52
    16-12-05
    RM-70

Although, these two devices are listed on the java verified site as supported devices.
I really don't know who is the responsible for this problem and who should I cotact.

Note: I told you that we tried the signed jar on Nokia 6233 and it worked, so I also checked the certificate list for it and I found "Geotrust CA for UTI" and this explained why it worked.

    Thanks again Hartti

Amr, can you send me a private message defining:
Where did you get the phone (operator?, which?), which operator are you using, and where in the world you are located.

I'm having the same problem with my Nokia 6131 bought to and operated by "Personal Argentina" : no "Geotrust CA for UTI" certificate, so Java Verified midlets are not allowed to run.

I even downloaded a newer firmware from Nokia site.

    Version ( as shown by *#0000# )
    Nokia 6131
    v 06.10
    16-02-07
    RM-115
    (c) Nokia

If I try to install a "GeoTrust CA for UTI" DER certificate downloaded from geotrust website, phone says "Certificate already installed" but it's not shown or available.

    Thanks a lot
