Question Security certificate supporting wap portals?

    Hi All,

Can anyone help me in finding the below mentioned information:

    1. How can we find the Secured sites (e.g. https://www.microsoft.com or https://www.paypal.com ) supported by a security certificate.
    2. Do we have any mapping for the secured sites and security certificate.

Actually we are testing the WTLS feature. We have downloaded some free certificates (from Entrust.com and some other sites). In order to test the certificates, we need to have proper secured site which is supported by the certificate.

    Pls respond to these questions.

Could you please tell us a bit more or at least try to ask you questions with different wording? I do not understand your problem. What do you mean with finding a secure site?

Re: Security certificate supporting wap portals?

As I have mentioned already, We are testing the WTLS feature on the mobile handset by downloading free WAP certificates in it.

    My question is

    1. How do we ensure that the downloaded security certificate is providing the access to the secured sites (E.g. https://www.microsoft.com or https://www.paypal.com)

If a certificate is not supporting a certain site, then the handset pop-up with the info such as "The site you are accessing, is not secured".

    2. Can we find the information from the certificate authorities (CA) about the sites which it will allow to access?

    Am I clear this time?

    No.

As you refer to WTLS but no current Nokia supports this anymore, I do not understand your point. If you want to install root authorities on your phone, you have to look at the issuer of your certificates on these websites. Clicking on the security chain does it for most desktop browsers.

Then you look up the root certificate storage on your mobile phone and check which authorities are present and which are missing. Then you install the root authorities and it will do.

Why is this question in the Java part of this forum?
