Automatic playback of SMIL in MMS on Nokia handsets

I've been attempting for some time now to construct SMIL for MMS in such a way that it automatically plays back when the MMS is opened by the receiver. So far, I've been able to make this happen on Motorola and Sony Ericsson handsets, but I haven't had any luck at all with Nokia handsets.
The best I can manage for Nokia handsets so far is that a small Play Presentation icon appears, and even this behaviour isn't consistent; depending on the formatting of the MMS message (as opposed to the SMIL), Series 60 will display all the objects in the MMS, while still retaining a Play Presentation link in the menu that isn't immediately visible to the user. An example MMS that produces the Play Presentation icon has been posted below.

I've had a look through a lot of the Nokia MMS documentation and have attempted to create MMS messages with Nokia's own developer tools which still don't play back automatically (at least on S60 emulators). Are there any settings (other than setting correct Content-IDs and start parameters) that might cause the desired behaviour on Nokia handsets? Are there any particular formatting gotchas or inconsistencies that may prevent automatic SMIL playback?

Thanks for any assistance you might be able to provide, I'd be quite grateful as I've been looking for a solution for some time to no avail thus far.

    Example MMS below:
    Code:
    --EnvelopeBoundary
    Content-Type: text/xml; charset="utf-8"
    Content-ID: </tnn-200102/mm7-submit>

(By the way, I've also done versions of the SMIL without the linked text message, that hasn't had any effect on playback either way. I know it's not best practice though.)

We are having the same issue. It would be great to get some feedback from a moderator on this.

Is it possible to make MMS messages autoplay on a Nokia, or do users always have to select play presentation?

Exclamation Re: Automatic playback of SMIL in MMS on Nokia handsets

there are other unanswered threads regarding this issue:

    http://discussion.forum.nokia.com/fo...ad.php?t=58706

    http://discussion.forum.nokia.com/fo...ad.php?t=77395

all we really want to know is if Nokia phones support autoplay of SMIL based MMS presenations, and if so, what do we need to add to our SMIL file to do it.

Please can a moderator or anyone who knows something about this, let us know.

I really don't have time to research questions that are one or two years old to see if they are answered. If you can post a new thread detailing what you need I will try to have someone look at it. If there isn't a response in 3 days then e-mail me the URL.
