    Visual Studio C++ and carbide.vs problem

    Hello everybody,

    I am very new to Symbian and I tried to install a development environment.

    I´m using Microsoft Visual Studio C++ 6.0 Enterprise Edition (not .NET!!!) and carbide.vs 2.01. If I try to install carbide, the installation process always says, that I don´t have "Microsoft Visual Studio .NET" and exit the installer.

    I searched for solutions on symbian.com and with google (and also in this forum), but I wasn´t successful.

    Anybody any idea, what´s my fault?

    Thanx!

    Carbide.vs does not support Visual Studio 6. Either use Carbide.c++ or get a VS 2003 (perhaps VS.NET also works, check in the release notes).
    Which SDK do you intend to use?

    Thanx for your answer!

    I intend to use the S60-SDK-0548-3.0 SDK.

    Re: Visual Studio C++ and carbide.vs problem

    The S60 3rd edition SDK has no support for VS6, you need

    Visual Studio 2003 + Carbide.vs
    or
    Codewarrior
    or
    Carbide.c++
