    Symbians and SocketConnection

    I have written a midlet that sends and gets data from a servlet over an Tomcat Apache Server.

    i am using httpConnection in midp 1.0s, and using socketConnection in midp2.0s and symbians. everyhthing is ok with midp 1.0 and midp 2.0 phones but when i install it to a symbian, n6600 forexample, even i have the permission line in the jad, it doesn't connect in that symbian. i am searching all the net for 1 week but still i couldn't find anything.

    is the reason my midlet isnt signed? symbian warns me that the application is untrusted while installing.

    note:
    midp 1.0 midlet connects directly to the servlet
    midp 2.0 and symbian midlet connects to an socket server running on the server through the port 4540. socket server is a bridge between phone and the servlet.

    please help...

    hi,

    also add handling for java.lang.SecurityException, you can have issue with your signed midlet:

    Re: Symbians and SocketConnection

    i have debugged the code in s60 v3 emulator and there is no security exception or any other problem. the phone just tries to open a socket connection with the following line and hangs at that line.

    Code:
                sc = (SocketConnection) Connector.open("socket://xx.xx.xxx.xx:4540");
    i really feel desperate about this. i can not find any solution.

    nokia support workers, where are you?
