Does S60 support low-level disk access?

    Hi guys

I am new to Symbian OS and was wondering if S60 (any version) supports low-level disk access for manipulating at filesystem level. I want to create a Symbian app that can do disk wiping/shredding without destroying the data that's already on the phone. I'd like to support wiping unused data blocks on both the phone's memory and the memory card too.

Also, if S60 doesn't support this, then does anyone know if Symbian would be willing to allow this in future editions (ie. S60 4th Edition v10)?

    Thanks in advance!

OS 9.x supports this but it limited to Symbian Platinum Partners.
