    Detecting file system changes

Hi - newbie to series 60

The Series 60 documentation describes how I need to call ChangeNotify() for the file server session (RFs) to be informed of any changes.

How are these changes then signalled to my application? Do I need to set up an active object in another thread or is there some easier way of doing it in the application framework?

    RE: Detecting file system changes

You need an active object in the same thread as your application. When the change occures your monitor's RunL function gets called. Just make this monitor to be a member of the class which is going to do the real work and then you can call parent's object function from within RunL.

    Cheers,
    Andrey
